Alarms Monitoring & Advisory
The real-time alarms monitoring dashboard tracks and maintains all alarms in real time, converting them into alerts that can trigger warnings to the relevant superintendent or hierarchy. Recently, issues were identified in the Main Engine (ME) Turbocharger (T/C) lubrication system, with probable causes being the failure of the lubricating pump or a malfunctioning pressure sensor. The advisory is to check and rectify both the lubricating pump and the pressure sensor.
Condition Monitoring & Advisory
The dashboard allows continuous monitoring of the Main Engine (ME) and shafting system, including tail shaft condition monitoring and identification and resolution of issues. It enables the monitoring of stern tube bearing temperatures, detecting anomalies through trend variations. Potential consequences and impacts include real-time analysis for evaluating wear and tear, planning maintenance schedules accordingly, and establishing correlations with other parameters.
Condition Based Maintenance
The dashboard indicates possibilities of increased resistance through higher fuel consumption or engine wear and tear. It monitors the operational parameters of Auxiliary Engines (AE) for condition monitoring, specifically DG operations. This enables condition-based maintenance and predictive diagnostics by monitoring load voltage frequency and the health of running alternators. Additionally, it measures Main Engine (ME) shaft parameters, including shaft power (kW), shaft torque (N-m), and shaft RPM, which can indicate deviations due to transmission losses in the shafting system.
